The Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra seeks a MARKETING & ADMINISTRATION COORDINATOR to work on a voluntary basis.
Who we are
The Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO) is a large orchestra based in Brussels, at the Saint-Michel Theatre (near Montgomery). The orchestra has around one hundred young musicians who have recently graduated from the Conservatoire.
The mission of the BPO is to prepare these musicians for a future career in a professional orchestra, by enabling them to develop their own style in a disciplined and structured manner, through a very varied repertoire. The result is a series of high quality concerts, in a jovial and relaxed atmosphere.
Your role:
- You will be the “right hand man” (or woman) of the artistic director/conductor for the duration of the orchestral season
- You will have an overview of all the activities of the BPO and assure the overall coordination for all matters related to marketing, organisation and administration
- As the driving force behind the orchestra’s activities, you will generate marketing initiatives and make contact with external concert organisers, companies, etc.
- You will coordinate a small team of volunteers and monitor their motivation
- You will be involved in the finalising of documents (programmes, brochures, quotations, contracts, etc.) and ensure the follow-up of projects currently underway
- You will liaise with the webmaster regarding updates of the website
Your profile:
- You are ready to dedicate some of your own time to support an association and social initiative for young professional musicians
- Educated to a higher or university level, you are seeking a management role in the cultural sector
- You have marketing and/or administration experience
- Your excellent organisational skills enable you to juggle several tasks simultaneously whilst respecting deadlines
- Well-organised and methodical, you have an eye for detail
- You have good communication skills both written and spoken and a good team spirit
- You have up-to-date knowledge of Windows applications (Word, Excel).
- You are competent in French, Dutch and English.
- Musical knowledge would be considered an asset
