The Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra seeks a
LOGISTICS VOLUNTEER
Who we are:
The Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO) is a large orchestra based in Brussels, at the Saint-Michel Theatre (near Montgomery). The orchestra has around one hundred young musicians who have recently graduated from the Conservatoire.
The mission of the BPO is to prepare these musicians for a future career in a professional orchestra, by enabling them to develop their own style in a disciplined and structured manner, through a very varied repertoire. The result is a series of high quality concerts, in a jovial and relaxed atmosphere.
Your role:
As the right-hand man (or woman) of our stage manager you will assist with the logistical preparations for rehearsals and concerts, from mid-September until the end of June:
- You will be present every Monday evening from 18:15 at the rehearsals in Brussels (Etterbeek) as well as at all concerts (10 to 12 per season)
- You will take care of arranging the chairs, stands and instruments in order to set up for the orchestra (80 musicians)
- You will assist with the transportation of materials and instruments when they occasionally need to be taken somewhere or collected.
- Depending on your skills, you would also have the possibility to lend a hand with communications and the management of administrative documents for the musicians
Your profile:
- You are available to donate some of your own time to support young professional musicians
- You are physically fit and healthy
- You are punctual and reliable
- You are fond of classical music, even if you are not particularly familiar with it.
What we offer :
- A regular voluntary activity within an enthusiastic and dynamic team
- Contact with other people in a relaxed atmosphere
- The possibility to attend concerts and rehearsals free of charge
